The Bible contains 66 Books that are organized into two major sections; The Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament contains 39 books and The New Testament contains 27 books.

The Old Testament explains the history of God and the Earth. The history of Gods blessings and the genealogy leading up to the birth of Jesus Christ. The New Testament contains eye witness accounts of the birth and life of Jesus Christ, the miracles He performed. It also contains the teachings of Jesus Christ on how to have a relationship with God and how to live as a Christian. The New Testament also contains prophecies of events to come such as the return of Jesus Christ.

It is important to note different denominations of Churches acknowledge a different number of Books in the Bible. Most churches acknowledge the 66 books as the Bible. The Catholic Church recognizes 73 books and the Eastern Orthodox church recognizes 81 Books.

The extra books recognized by the Catholic church are Baruch, Judith, 1 and 2 Maccabees, Sirach, Tobit and Wisdom. These books are referred to as the deuterocanonical books. These Books are not accepted by other churches as they believe they lack the authority of the Gospels.

The Eastern Orthodox Church also accepts the apocryphal books which are Tobit, Judith, Wisdom, Sirach, 1–4 Baruch, 1–4 Maccabees, Apocryphal Esther, Apocryphal Psalms, Apocryphal Daniel (including Azariah, Susanna, and Bel and the Dragon), 1–2 Esdras, Prayer of Manasseh, Testaments of the Twelve Patriarchs, Jubilees, 1–3 Enoch, Book of Giants, Jasher, Life of Adam and Eve, Book of Creation, Testament of Abraham, Testament of Isaac, Testament of Jacob, Ladder of Jacob, Joseph and Asenath, Testament of Job, Testament of Moses, Testament of Solomon, Psalms of Solomon, Lives of the Prophets, Words of Gad the Seer, Ascension of Isaiah, Revelation of Abraham, Revelation of Elijah, Revelation of Zephaniah, Apocryphon of Ezekiel, Epistle of Aristeas, Didache, Revelation of Peter, Epistle of Barnabas, 3 Corinthians, 1–2 Clement, Seven Epistles of Ignatius (seven works), Epistle of Polycarp to the Philippians, Martyrdom of Polycarp, Epistle of Mathetes to Diognetus, The Shepherd of Hermas, Odes of Peace, Apology of Aristides.

All other churches reject the apocryphal books as historians deemed these scrolls to be genuinely ancient but not genuinely Biblical.
