A Proverb A Day: Chapter 1

Today is a new month. A new day. Which means, we’ve been blessed to have another opportunity to grow in our walk with Christ. The month of May has 31 days. There are also 31 chapters in the book of Proverbs.

I’m going to post a short thought each day through the book of Proverbs. I love this book. What about you? Have you studied it in the past?

Chapter one, verse one says, “The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel…” Many of these proverbs were written by Solomon. He was the wisest man to live (outside of Jesus). These proverbs never get old.

Here’s a thought for today from Proverbs 1:7:

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction.”

  1. What can we learn from this?
  2. How should we view God in light of this verse?
  3. What exactly is wisdom? I would love to hear your thoughts.

I will answer these questions tomorrow and provide a verse from Proverbs chapter 2.

Have a great day. And remember that Jesus loves you. So do I.
